We’re excited to launch a brand-new dance-specific service designed to help dancers move safer, stronger, and perform optimally.

Our Dance Strength Screening has been created to support the optimal dancer — one who is not only artistic, but physically prepared, resilient, and built to meet the demands of training and performance.

Dancers are artistic athletes, requiring strength, control, power, and endurance to repeatedly perform highly skilled movements. Each dance style places different demands on the body, and the balance between stretching and strengthening is key. To stay safe and successful, targeted strength and conditioning is essential to support these loads, reduce injury risk, and promote long-term progression.

 

This new 45-minute appointment has been developed specifically to meet the physical demands of dance — because dancers deserve to be built to dance.

 

What Is the Dance Strength Screening?

Our Dance Performance Screening combines clinical expertise with advanced VALD technology to objectively measure dance-specific strength, control, and movement strategies.

This allows us to go beyond what we can see and truly understand how your body is coping with training. It helps us identify where your strength supports your technique — and where gaps may be limiting performance or increasing injury risk.

We assess how you transfer load to flow — ensuring you have the physical capacity to control landings, generate power for jumps, stabilise through turns, and maintain endurance across long rehearsals.

This approach builds on our philosophy around maximising performance through athletic screening, ensuring dancers train like the artistic athletes they are.

What Does the Appointment Include?

Before your session, you’ll complete a short dance-specific questionnaire so we can focus on what matters most to you.

During your 45-minute assessment, we evaluate key areas including:

·         Lower limb strength

·         Core control

·         Plyometric capacity

·         Force symmetry

·         Muscular endurance

·         Movement quality and control

We place particular emphasis on key muscle groups critical for dance performance, including the calves, hamstrings, and quadriceps in functional strength work.

This comprehensive screening gives us a clear picture of how your body is functioning under dance-specific demands.
