Optimise comfort and performance on your bike. A cycling assessment is a biomechanical analysis of your body, your bike and your cycling technique provided by a trained physiotherapist. From staying fit with family, to riding daily on a commute to work, or challenging yourself to longer distances and events - we help increase your efficiencies and minimise risk of injury, regardless of your fitness or experience.
Know Before You Go
The 2-hour consultation begins with a discussion about your medical history, any injuries, current lifestyle/training and your goals in cycling. A physical assessment of your posture, flexibility and strength (measured with a hand held dynamometer) is conducted which can provide valuable information about the cause of any symptoms on the bike.
With your own bike on a wind trainer we then observe your set up and position on the bike. Additionally we use iPad video analysis recorded from the front, back and side, to observe your body position and control while pedaling. All of this information is then used to make recommendations about your bike set up.
If necessary a treatment program is developed to address any physical issues that have been identified during the session. This may include a home exercise program and periodic follow up appointments for hands-on treatment or to review your exercise program or bike fit, if required.
